in an unfortunate chain of events it is a realistic possibility that the turkish league final game 7 may not be played, tonight or at all! the health and safety of the players, coaches and team officials is the # 1 concern of galatasaray sports club. the league levied a fine monetary against fenerbahce for the behavior of their home fans during game 5. these sanctions did not meet the standards of the galatasaray officials. no player deserves to be kicked, punched, spit on, insulted and threatened during the competition of a professional game, in a professional league! in a statement made by galatasaray team president, the club is also considering withdrawing both the men’s and women’s basketball teams from participating in the turkish leagues next season. all support and respect is given to president ünal aysal for standing his ground and honoring his principals and his players.
