dear mr. platini,
first of all, i would like to thank you for your zero tolerance approach to match fixing and illegal activities in today’s soccer. in regards to turkish match-fixing allegations, i have always seen you as a just and determined to finish these types of illegal activity. in turkey, the game has not been clean for many years. however, this year turkish police cracked the match-fixing activities and it mafia-like organization. thus, there are many club officials and criminals are being kept in the prison for what they have done. your support and suggestions to mr. aydinlar made sure that the remaining of these mafia-like organizations could not affect turkish football association. however, mr. aydinlar could not perform his duties regarding “zero tolerance” even after consulting with uefa in many occasions.
these mafia-like organizations and its people made mr. aydinlar’s job impossible. i believe he was not determined to penalize his team, fenerbahce, as well. thus, he resigned from turkish football association before delivering the justice and setting the future of turkish football to brighter days. because of mr. aydinlar’s resignation and two other tfa officials’ resignation, tfa is holding an election to determine the next president and its officials.
unfortunately, the mafia-like structure is not easy to breakdown. there are over 20 candidates for the presidency of tfa and one of them is the president of besiktas as, mr. yildirim demiroren. as you know, besiktas and its two officials were also in prison based on the match-fixing investigation. they are still being questioned in the court based on the match-fixing allegations. as the member of a football team whose officials are in the trial, mr. demiroren should not be a candidate for the tfa elections as it is a major conflict of interest. unfortunately, mr. demiroren is foreseen to be the strongest candidate as the majority of the turkish super league teams’ officials declared their support. i strongly believe that this is because of the strong pressure put by the mafia-like structure in turkey regarding turkish football. i believe mr. demiroren’s candidacy is not only unetical but also illegally motivated. during the general assembly of tfa held couple weeks ago, mr. demiroren complained about uefa and fifa’s zero tolerance against match-fixing and said the following:
if necessary, no turkish team should not compete in europe or internationally until the trials are finished. turkish football association should not listen to uefa
now that mr. demiroren declared his candidacy, couple days ago, he promised the following openly:
no teams in the match-fixing allegations will be penalized none of the teams will not be downgraded to the lower leagues no changes will be done regarding the winner’s last year’s championship and turkish cups no penalties will be given to any team until the trials end (which could take years)
his motivation is absolutely ill-posed and most probably will damage the turkish football immensely. he is promising “no fault” to the teams which are in the allegations and also asking their support for the presidency of tfa. the turkish football had a chance to clean itself once in for all but mr. demiroren will stop this cleaning process regardless of any penalty imposed to turkish football from uefa and fifa. as a turkish citizen, i am sickened and deeply hurt by the possibility of his presidency and the collapse of turkish football.
as you have done in many occasions, i believe that you will voice your opinion and help turkish teams make correct decisions in the tfa elections. i believe tfa should be led by a person who believes in “zero tolerance” and justice for everybody. mr. demiroren clearly does not care about the justice. his only goal is so called “save” fenerbahce and his team besiktas with the expense of turkish football.
i believe mr. demiroren’s presidency will be devastating for turkish football nationally and internationally. he simply does not care about international and national rules regarding football. his only motivation is to establish:
law of power (mafia-like structure).
he does not care about the power of law (justice) at all. because of his ill-motivation, turkish football could be banned by uefa and fifa internationally which would reduce the market value and international standings of turkish football. in addition, major turkish teams will be weakened as they will not be able to compete in european cups. thus, i would like to ask you to put a statement regarding “zero tolerance” and what will happen if tfa does not follow the international rules.
