socceroo harry kewell is resting in sydney after having a minor hernia operation.
"harry is fine and is aiming to start training again in three to four weeks' time," socceroos coach pim verbeek said yesterday.
kewell was injured in a recent match for his turkish club galatasaray when challenging for a high ball.
after consulting with socceroos medical staff and his club, he decided to treat the injury now as galatasaray is through to the latter stages of the uefa cup and the turkish super league is about to enter its winter break.
kewell is expected to return to istanbul after enjoying christmas with his family at home in australia. )
